demarcations; you have black eyes (2023)
Single-channel digital video, color, stereo sound

Titled after a song by Afghan singer Ahmad Zahir, you have black eyes is a stream-of-consciousness montage depicting collective bodies from ants to human kin in a constant state of disruption, movement, processing, and grieving. The work celebrates Afghan bodies as a historical, domestic site of resistance through dance and movement.
