My senior capstone project, Liminal Beings, was filmed and edited during early summer (May to July 2018). I interviewed Afghans that migrated in the 1980s and 1990s (in response to the Soviet Occupation) and settled in Northern Virginia and Maryland. I gave their feelings, fragments of memories, and experiences an interactive visual form that displaces and transplants the audience, as well as be subject to language translation embedded in shifting landscapes.
